Finally open, just in time for Equinox

Finally open, just in time for Equinox

Wow, Apothecary of Shelton is finally opening! Just as the daffodils are shining so bright, the cherry blossoms are wafting our noses with their sweet fragrance, the buds are bursting open, and everything is greener and brighter. For years I have been a true believer that New Years should be on the Spring Equinox. It is the time of birth with plants popping up out of the ground, animals being more abundant and the birds chirping loudly. We have done a full cycle of growing and dying back/ surviving through darkness. We have exactly 12 hours of day light, a reminder that more growth and light will balance out the darkness we have been engulfed in.

I reflect on the biggest lesson I have learned while growing this business- a reminder to be patient with myself and how the time will flow exactly how it needs to get one to the right moment- just like a daffodil springing up right after a big snowfall. This day couldn't be the more perfect day to open!

The Apothecary of Shelton is too bursting it's bud at the start of spring. The doors are opening, the light is flowing in and the bees (the lovely people I can't wait to meet) will be coming in and out. I am so grateful for all the people in my life and in the community that have helped me open. I am grateful to call Shelton my home (it took more years than I'd like to admit to get myself here). I am so grateful for the all the people that I cannot wait to meet. Most of all, I am grateful to my plant allies and mother nature for the reminder of how beautiful the cycle of seasons is!

Normally these blog posts will be about herbs and health-related topics, but as I open my doors, it is hard to not reflect on the the divine timing of it all!

With love, light, and well-being,

Desiree
